After I made my list I hung this list up on my bathroom mirror and also on my bedroom door. I wanted everyday to see my motivation for changing my behavior this helped quite since quitting smoking is a decision one has to establish day by day. If you stop smoking you have to presume there will be times when you will slip but in the times past that I backslid, I just accepted failure and started smoking full steam ahead. This time if I slipped and bought a pack of cigarettes or smoked one I begged from a friend I allowed myself forgiveness for not being perfect and started right back up.
As soon as I saw the scales go up I made sure to exercise more and not to substitute eating with smoking. I also rewarded myself by pampering myself with anything I in most cases would not do for myself. Any time I pay attention to careful smoking control my cigarette use always goes down. I can't say that I don't think about smoking from time to time and almost certainly always will but I always tell myself that what you save is both health and money. Your clothes do not smell like smoke your hair does not reek of smoke and you can taste the food you eat. You can also put the money you would have used for buying cigarettes into a bank account and watch it grow.
